About me

Welcome to Kimetsu Cafe.

I am Y’s Crow and am the guide on this website.

My owner is a Japanese working in a healthcare company. As she is very busy, I am transferring her messages. My owner loves reading manga and has deep knowledge on Japanese culture and tradition.

Kimetsu Cafe is the place where you get to know the Japanese culture, history, tradition and language which are described in the story. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is a Japanese animation based on the manga written by Koyoharu Gotouge and a lot of Japanese cultural and historical elements are incorporated in this great work. When my owner was watching Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba herself, she wondered if people who was not grown up in Japan could enjoy the anime enough, without knowing the Taisho period, the meaning of patterns of swordsman’s clothes, what a Kagura is, how demons are related to the Japanese culture?

Of course you can also enjoy Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba without knowing these facts. It is simply a great work. But if you watch the anime again after knowing the Japanese cultural background, you might have an entirely different view on the story.

I hope you will enjoy Kimetsu no Yaiba even more after reading my articles, and if you have a topic which you would like me to deal with, please contact.

Note: the author of this blog is a native Japanese and has read manga Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and its fan books and other related story books in Japanese language and watched the anime and the Movie: Mugen Train in Japanese. When it comes to the translation into English, there might be some inconsistencies compared to the official English translation.
